My friend goes to Canada every year to shoot birds.  He loves it.  He owns a storage business and goes to shoot birds and visit storage places. After hearing I was doing a story on Canada, he told me about having visited his Alderwood storage facility.

I was going to talk about snow and snowmobiles, or hockey or Canadian football.  Even Canadian whiskey could chew up words on a travel story with a deadline.  I never have shot birds before.  I shot guns in the Army, but they want you to shoot people and not birds.  Birds might be easier than shooting people I would think, but you never know.  Shooting people in the snow could happen in America too you know.  Hunters drink while shooting animals.  They are not supposed to, of course, but they do.  I do not hunt.  I do not ice skate or make things from ice.

I have never visited Alderwood storage facilities, and it may be that I never will.  I have to write about Canada without ever going to Canada.  My friend tried to help out explaining how he shoots birds up there in the middle of the winter.  I had another friend who fished in Canada.  He had an Indian guide who took him to far away places in secret places to catch the most fish.  They caught fish, cooked the fish, camped out, and loved it.  The fish never tasted better and the Indian guide told stories of past anglers.  I do not know though.  I have not fished for over twenty years.

I will probably never see an Alderwood storage unit, will I?  I will not shoot birds in Canada ever either.  I will not fish in Canada either.  I might go to a hockey game, a festival, or a big city in Canada.  I could write about that in a real way instead of never seeing Canada and writing about it.

I have seen other places too I have written about.  Deadlines can be very demanding and you have to be on time with deadlines.  That is why they are called deadlines you see.  I make most of my deadlines.  I do not have time to shoot birds this time.  I am a bad shot I believe.  I like shooting guns but not living things.  I did not shoot any human beings while in the Army.  I did not have to.  Canada does not fight too many wars do they?  They stay out of wars.  Why do we fight so many wars?  Why cannot we hide better or look the other way?

We are fighting two wars now or more.  Two on TV anyway and in the news.  My friend shoots birds here in Canada.  I do not shoot anything either.  I own no guns or even sharp knives.  I do not sharpen my knifes.  Most are badly dull.  I struggle cutting meat even.  I do not have it in me to kill anything alive.  Even spiders survive in my house.  I throw them out the door instead.  Who am I to stop a life?  It is OK to shoot birds in Canada if you want.  Really.  I have nothing against it.  There must be plenty of birds up there.  I though we had plenty of birds too, here in America.  I guess not.

Who wants to drive further than what the need to? It is sure that the answer is no one. No one wants to drive all over the city to get to anything they need or want. Many times when people find a place to live they look at a couple of different conditions. For the most part either people want to live in the middle of everything so they can get from point A to point B quickly, or they live further away to save money and they do not mind the drive. For those who like to live in the middle of things, they like the fact that they can convenient get to where they need to go and not waste their time on driving. They like that the places they most visit are convenient.

When people decide to use a Montréal storage facility, they are looking for many different criteria but they are really looking for a place that is close to them. The fact remains that using self storage was not their first option, it just made sense to what they were needing.  So with people they like the fact that they can be close to their belongings. If they desire it, they can drive not too far in order to gain access to the belongings they could not keep at their house or their office.

With Montréal storage, they give you great access times to the things you hold dear. Just because these belongings are not at your home or work place does not say that they are not important. Why else would you pay a monthly fee for them? Most of the time you can drop by the facility on your way home from work or on your lunch break if you need to. That is usually fine because your Montréal storage facility is so close that you are not wasting time with the drive.

It is also true that most of the time you will pay a little bit more in order to store close to where you live or work. The further you drive out, the less you usually have to pay. You are going to pay for convenience, but for the most part that is ok. The Montréal storage facility will take care of you and your belongings. Getting in and out of your unit quickly is what you are paying for.  That is generally worth it to most customers.

It was a huge step for Lark to be taking today, but she was bravely going to take the step. Last month her boyfriend of two years asked her to move in when her lease on her apartment was up for renewal. They had never talked about living together before so it was quite a long conversation that they had, but in the end Lark decided that she was going to be moving in with Ben.

She began packing and going through everything to try to get it down to a manageable amount of stuff to add to his apartment that was all ready a little crowded. Ben also began to clean up his apartment and box up some of his things to make room for her stuff. They both were excited to begin this next phase of their relationship and to see where it would take them.

Fitting two apartments into one can be complicated, but Lark and Ben were determined to make it work. They both downsized their belongings, and they also agreed to rent a Laval storage unit to hold all of the boxes and furniture that they really wanted to keep but just did not have room for. Once they finally got started with the process of moving in they found that it was smooth sailing. They were able to find a Laval storage unit close to Bens apartment that had a space available that would work for them, and was in their price range. Two of their friends who had trucks volunteered to help them move so that cut down the cost of having to rent a truck.

On move in day they started with Bens apartment and moved out all of the boxes and furniture that he was taking out to the Laval storage unit so that they would have some place to move Lark into. It did not take them very long with all of the help. Next they went to Larks and moved over all of her boxes and furniture into the Laval storage unit that she was not going to move into the apartment. Lastly they went back to Larks and moved what she was taking into their apartment.

That night while they were unpacking Lark knew that this was the right decision to make. She was excited about their future together, and Ben could not stop smiling at her so she assumed that he was happy with their new living arrangement as well.

If you know that you are going to be shopping around for a self storage unit in the near future, then there are several things that you are going to want to do in order to be sure that you are not wasting your money.  Of course, if you have never shopped around for a unit before, then you are going to want to be sure that you do a little bit of research before you pick up the phone for the first time.  After all, how are you going to shop around for something that you do not know anything about?  Just read through this article carefully, and by the end of it, you are going to be able to shop around with confidence and responsibility.

First and foremost, reader, you are going to have to be sure that you are picking a self storage company that is not too far away from where you live.  The last thing that you are going to want to do, here, is have to drive a long ways to get to your belongings.  Sure, you may stand to save a few dollars a month if you rent your unit from a distant facility, but you are surely going to end up cursing yourself for making things so hard.  Especially if you are in the middle of a complicated move, then you are going to want to be sure that you are renting a unit that is nice and close.

Moving on, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are renting your unit from a facility that comes with all of the great security features.  Since you are going to be paying money to keep your belongings safe, you are going to have to be proactive, here, and make sure that your unit is actually going to keep your belongings safe.  Thus, you are going to have to be sure that your door comes equipped with a door alarm, and that your facility has an ample number of video surveillance cameras.  Of course, you are also going to want to be sure that you have all of the basics covered, too.  Be sure that the perimeter of your facility is covered by a large security fence, and be sure that your front gate is pin code controlled.  Likewise, be sure that you are securing the door to your self storage unit with a big, sturdy, high security lock.  The last thing that you are going to want to do, here, is shell over your money for a storage unit that cannot even keep your belongings safe.

Finally, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are renting a unit that is actually going to fit within your moving budget.  If you rent a unit that you can barely afford, then you are not going to be too happy at the end of the day.  As you are calling around, be sure that you get a good feel for the move in specials and fees that are associated with your unit, and be sure that you take them into careful consideration.

It is not all that hard for you to rent a self storage unit if you know what you are looking for.  Just keep these bits of advice in mind as you are calling around, and you are going to find that you are perfectly ready for the challenges that lie ahead.  Truly, you can become the master of your self storage situation if you are ready and willing to conduct all of the necessary research.
