Personal Self Storage

There is a reason that they call it personal self storage . Really, when you think about it, you can use a self storage unit for just about anything that you can imagine.  The tragic thing, here, is that very few people seem to understand the versatility of the self storage unit.  Very few people seem to understand that storage units are not simply for the junk that you stuff in your attic, or the spare furniture items that you cram into your basement.  Indeed, self storage units are for many, many things.  If you have never considered this point, then you are going to want to be sure that you are paying careful attention to the following uses of the modern self storage unit.

First and foremost, self storage units are going to be perfect for vehicles.  While not all of your local facilities are going to permit you to store a vehicle in their units, many of them are not going to have a problem with this.  Typically speaking, they are going to want to be sure that you rent a ten by twenty self storage unit, as this unit is going to approximate the size of a standard garage.  Of course, you know that when you pull into a unit of this size, you are not going to have any problems when it comes to opening your doors and making sure that you do not damage the unit.  The best part, here, is that you are going to be able to rest assured that your vehicle is fine when you park it in a self storage unit.  You are going to have a lot of security features working for you, such as video surveillance cameras, door alarms, access controlled gates, and the like.  And if you get lucky, you are going to have a property manager who actually lives on your self storage property, watching over the units with his or her very own eyes.  Truly, some self storage units make for a great place to store your vehicle.

Of course, you can also use self storage units for other purposes.  If you find that you do not have enough space to work on one of your hobbies at home, then you might very well want to look into renting a unit and using it as a work space.  If you like to work with wood, then you might be able to rent a unit that comes with electrical outlets and climate control.  It will be just like you are working in your own garage.  Of course, if you are in a band, then you might want to look into renting your very own unit as well.  Storage units are just like garages, so you can set up your garage band without any serious trouble.  Now, for both of these things, you are going to want to be sure that you get your property manager’s permission before you begin.  While most property managers are going to be all right with you working inside of your unit, you have to make absolutely certain that you are not violating any rules.
