A Small Gesture From St Hubert StorageBy admin on May 22, 2010 | No Comments
It is not often that you hear that someone from the military will need St. Hubert storage. It is something that is often required but not mentioned often. The managers at the different locations have heard many different reasons for people having the need for Quebec storage units. No matter what the reason a customer will need storage, the manager is always ready to assist them with their needs.
It is always good to hear when a manager is able to help a customer who is in the military with their storage needs. Not every one is able to help our country in the way that the people in the military are able to do so it feels like we are helping our country by taking care of their St Hubert storage needs.
There are many time in which a St. Hubert storage location will give some kind of discount to those who are in the armed forces in order to help them out and to show some sort of appreciation for their service. It is a small gesture for the facility to do for the people serving the country, but every little bit helps. The facilities know that a customer in the armed forces might come and go quickly depending on their assignment or they might have to stay a long length of time. What ever the customer will need, the manager will do their best to assist them.
There is many times in which the customer will be moving everything they own to put into storage because they will have to go over seas or to a different country. It all seems to happen quickly and sometimes without notice. It would seem as if the armed forces do what they can to set the customer up well and sometimes take care of their storage needs while they are serving. That does not sound like a bad set up. It is for sure that it is not always easy to focus on getting your storage situation taken care of when you are trying to determine your assignment for the military. Many thoughts run through their minds but hopefully the manager at the St. Hubert storage facility are able to get at least the moving part of the process with ease. In the military it seems nothing is for certain in terms of when you will return or if you have to go away again, but at least you know that your belongings will be safe at your St. Hubert storage facility.

Less Stress With Montreal StorageBy admin on May 20, 2010 | No Comments
Having four growing children can be stressful especially when they have to share a room, and it seems as though everyone is right on top of each other. Kate and her husband Bill were trying to figure out what to do about having two teenagers and two more about to be teenagers living in their three bedroom house. There was just no space for anyone to move around and sharing a room can be tricky when you have teenagers who want their own space.
In the end Kate and Bill decided that they would put on an addition to their house. They were going to add two more bedrooms as well as a family room that could be for the teenagers and their friends to hang out in. they contacted a contractor and began to plan out what exactly they wanted. When the plans were all drawn up they began to realize that they were going to have to move stuff out of the way while the construction was going on. So Bill went to a nearby Montreal storage facility to see about renting a unit. he was thinking that the nice furniture that they had in the rooms that were being remodeled to add doors and take out windows were going to need to be cleaned out so that the construction workers could come and go as they please and the furniture would not be ruined.
The kids in the rooms that were being remodeled were responsible for packing up their things, and Bill and Kate took care of the other rooms that were going to be needed cleared out. When they had everything that was ready to go to the Montreal storage unit Bill and the kids took everything over. It was a little strange having part of their house cleared out and moved over to the Montreal storage unit, but it seemed that it would be a lot easier for the construction to get started.
Three months later the rooms were completed and everyone was moving back in to their own rooms. The two girls were the most excited to have their own rooms. It was amazing to see how when everything was moved back in from the Montreal storage unit there was a lot more space. Everyone had a little spot that they could go to when they wanted to be on their own, and they were no longer all piled on top of each other so there was less fighting and yelling. Of course the first Friday night there were a ton of teenagers hanging out in the family room watching movies, but Kate kind of liked it because at least she knew that they were all safe. It was the best thing that they had ever done for their family.

A True Friend In Laval StorageBy admin on May 15, 2010 | No Comments
Have you ever tried to do something nice for someone and end up giving more than you were expecting. That is what happened to Seth. He let his best friend, Greg, of six years move in with him when he lost his job and was having trouble paying for his apartment. Seth agreed that he could live with him until he found a job and was able to save up some money. Seth was even nice enough to rent a Laval storage unit to clear out some of his stuff as well as let Greg keep some of his stuff while they were sharing the apartment.
Greg was suppose to come over to help move stuff into the Laval storage unit, but after waiting for thirty minutes Seth just did it by himself. When it was Gregs turn to move his stuff in he called Seth to ask if he could help. He really wanted to say no since Greg had failed to help him move his stuff, but he decided to just help and be done with moving that much faster. When he got to Gregs her quickly realized that it was not going to be fast or easy. Greg was still packing and trying to find a truck to move some of the bigger items that he had. It ended up taking them the rest of the day to move Greg out of his apartment and into Seth apartment and put stuff into the Laval storage .
After seven month of living there Greg finally moved out, and Seth could not have been happier. He was ready to have his own apartment again. He helped Greg move the stuff out of the apartment and in with one of his other friends that he was planning on living with. He told Seth that he would get his stuff out of the Laval storage unit as soon as he could. Seth knew that it would probably be a long time since there was not much room at the apartment Greg was moving into so he told him that he did not need the storage unit anymore now that he had moved out and that he had one month to either rent a unit himself or find somewhere else to store his stuff. He was no longer going to be paying for the unit when he did not need the space. It seemed that after all of this mess with trying to help out his friend they were not as close as they once were in the end.

Capture More Self Storage Sales and RentalsBy admin on April 19, 2010 | No Comments
Are you concerned that you are letting your sales calls drip through your fingers? Are you concerned that you are not doing everything within your power to grab potential sales as they come in? Are you worried that, over time, your failure to capture these sales is going to have a serious impact on your bottom line? Well, if you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you are going to want to be sure that you are rethinking your sales approach. Fortunately, there are tons of little things that you can do to improve your sales, and you are not even going to have to change your entire approach. Do yourself a favor, here, and be sure that you are taking this article seriously.
The first thing that you are going to want to do, here, is be sure that you are actually treating your potential customers with respect. The last thing that you are going to want to do, here, is lead your customers to believe that you are only trying to sell them your product, and that you do not actually care about helping them out. Fortunately, there are some very simple things that you can do to show your customers that you are listening to what they are saying, and that you respect and understand their concerns. First of all, be sure that you are maintaining eye contact with your customers as they are talking to you. This is going to show them that you are not shy, that you are listening, and that you are mindful of their concerns. Second of all, be sure that you are never interrupting your customer. You may feel the need to control your conversation, but you are never going to want to accomplish that task at the expense of good manners. Let your customer finish what she is saying, and then step in with your own commentary and advice. Remember, they do not have to rent with your company, so you are going to want to be sure that you are doing everything within your power to make sure that you are making a great first impression.
Of course, you are also going to want to be sure that you are delivering your information in a good, strategic order. If, for example, you start your conversation by listing all of your fees, then you might very well find that your customers do not want to rent with you. While your fees may be perfectly fair, presenting them at the beginning of the conversation is going to destroy your ability to build rapport. What you are going to want to do, here, is present your basic pricing information, and then move on to your fees at the end of the conversation. If your customers overwhelmingly object to the fees that you have listed, then you are going to want to be sure that you are moving, quickly, into the specials that you are going to be able to offer them. This, of course, is going to preserve your ability to build rapport.
At the end of the day, your presentational skills are going to play into the number of sales that you are able to secure. Really, it is just that simple. Thus, if you are not doing everything within your power to build rapport and inspire confidence in your customers, then you should not be surprised when your bottom line begins to slip. Practice often, reader, and be sure that you are heeding your constructive criticism appropriately, here. Before you know it, you are going to see the improvements that you need.

What Does Renting Self Storage MeanBy admin on April 17, 2010 | No Comments
Guess what, reader? Most people who are shopping around for a self storage unit do not, well, understand what they are getting themselves into. Do not mistake this categorical claim for a criticism of the self storage industry. Rather, take it as an indication of how little people seem to care about the seriousness of their self storage situation. For your own sake, reader, you are going to want to be sure that you know what you are getting yourself into before you rent yourself a self storage unit. Read through this article carefully, taking notes wherever they are necessary. You are going to be very happy that you did this at the end of the day, as you are going to be able to rent a self storage unit without shooting yourself in the proverbial foot.
The first thing that you are going to want to be aware of, here, is that each and every self storage unit is going to come with certain start up fees. Yes, yes, you may think that you are going to be able to avoid these fees by simply shopping around and whatnot. Really, though, you are not going to be able to avoid these fees at all. If you are lucky, you are going to be able to avoid excessive fees, but the fees are always going to be there. This, of course, is not to say that these fees are going to be too much to handle. Really, all that I am saying is that you are going to have to be aware of them, lest you enjoy being surprised by extra spending at the last conceivable minute. Watch out for administrative fees that are in excess of twenty five dollars, here, and be sure that you are not paying too much for your reservation. Likewise, be sure that the money that you are dropping on your reservation is actually going to count toward your first month of rent. If your facility is charging you extra money to reserve your unit, then you are going to want to shy away from them, as they are not exactly treating you very fairly.
Moving on, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are not getting gouged when it comes to your moving and packing supplies. Of course, as you are calling around, you are going to want to be sure that you remember to ask about moving and packing supplies. Thus, when you finally decide on a facility, you are going to want to be sure that they are not charging you way too much for the supplies that you are going to need in your self storage unit. If they are charging way too much for these supplies, then you are going to want to be sure that you find another facility that is not going to charge so much. After all, the last thing that you are going to want to do, here, is spend tons of money on boxes and packing paper if you really do not need to.
As you can clearly see, reader, there is not a lot that goes into making sure that you are not getting ripped off. Really, here, all that you are going to have to do at the end of the day is make sure that you are letting your common sense be your guide. If you are not listening to your noodle as you are shopping around, then you might very well end up getting ripped off and becoming unhappy with the unit that you have rented. Truly, you want to avoid this at all costs.

Good Self Storage Property Managers
There are a lot of things to keep in mind as you are shopping around for a self storage unit that is going to work out well for your needs. Of course, you are going to want to be sure that you are only looking into units that are going to be safe. Moreover, you are going to want to be sure that you are limiting your search to the facilities that are going to be located close to where you live. Importantly, though, and what many people often forget about, is that you are going to want to rent a unit from a property manager who is happy and helpful. The quality of your property manager, you should know, is going to have an enormous impact upon your self storage experience. Thus, as you are calling around, you are going to want to be sure that you are not forgetting to look into the quality of your property managers.
The first thing that you are going to want to look for in a good self storage property manager is a smile. That is right, reader. It is just that simple. If your property manager does not have a good mood, then chances are that you are not going to enjoy working with them in the future. Remember, here, that your property manager is going to be standing around virtually every self storage corner. When you have to pay your monthly bill, you are going to have to deal with your property manager. If you should ever experience a problem with one of your units, then you are going to have to deal with your property manager as well. Thus, before you agree to fork over any of your hard earned money, you are going to have to be doubly sure that you are going to get along with your property manager on a personal level. The last thing that you are going to need, here, is even more stress.
Moving on, here, you are always going to want to be sure that you are making a quick judgment call as to the responsibility of your potential property manager. If they seem like they are a very well put together person, then you are going to be able to rent with them more confidently. And really, it is not mean to make this sort of judgment call as you are shopping around. Of course, it stands to reason that you are going to have to take some in person site tours if you are going to make these kinds of judgments with any pretense of accuracy. Show up in person, give your property manager the once over, and be sure that you are not going to rent a self storage unit from someone who could not care less about keeping your belongings safe. Just as you are not going to buy a sandwich from a filthy person, you are not going to want to rent your self storage unit from an underachiever.
At the end of the day, you are going to be able to follow your common sense and your first impressions when it comes to renting a unit from a good property manager. Just remember, here, that as you are shopping around for your perfect self storage property, you cannot forget that your property managers are actual people. Like the rest of us, they have their faults. Even so, you are going to want to be sure that you are not handing your hard earned money over to someone would could not care less about the safety and wellbeing of your belongings.

First and foremost, you have to be sure that you are starting with all of the simple things. Be sure that you are packing your belongings well, here. The last thing in the world that you are going to want to do is simply toss all of your belongings into your standard vehicle, risking their safety from the get go. Help Your Self Storage Property Appeal To CustomersBy admin on March 3, 2010 | No Comments
There is a lot that goes into making sure that your self storage facility remains appealing to oncoming and potential customers. While you may have gotten into the business for the low upkeep that you heard about, this is, for the most part, just a myth. Sure, you can take your chances, here, making repairs only when they are absolutely necessary. But if you tread this path, do you really think that customers are going to continue to use your services? Of course, this cannot be what you are thinking. If you do not keep your property in great condition, then you are going to absolutely hemorrhage business. Fortunately, simple upkeep is not going to ruin your day, here.
The first thing that you are going to have to do, here, is make sure that you are doing walk through inspections of your property. And no, one walk through per month is not going to suffice. Really, you need to be out there each and every day, making sure that nothing has gone wrong while you were away. You never know when one of your doors is going to be stuck open. Likewise, you never know when you are going to run into problems with your access controlled gate. In order to be sure that you are delivering the best service to your customers, you must be aggressive in fixing these kinds of problems if and when they should occur. And since a thorough walk through is only going to take about ten or fifteen minutes, you really do not have an excuse to avoid doing it.
Now, you are also going to have to be sure that you are running security checks from time to time. Sure, you can brag about all of the security features that you have installed on your property, but if they do not work, then you have really shot yourself in the foot. What you are going to have to do, here, is make sure that you are testing your video surveillance often. Be sure that you are checking to make sure that you have good views of most of your units, and also check to be sure that cold weather and rain do not tamper with your view too severely. Of course, you are also going to want to be sure that your door alarms are in good, working order, as they are not going to do you very much good if they do not sound when your doors are tampered with. Unless your security features work as advertised, they are not going to help you all too much when it comes to keeping your belongings safe.
Finally, you are going to have to run routine checks to make sure that none of the important rules are being violated. While you may be incredibly fastidious when it comes to making sure that your property will pass inspection, you have to be sure that your tenants are not placing each other at risk. Check to make sure that no units are leaking any fluids, and check to be sure that your tenants are using your gate properly. Review your security footage and be sure that people are treating your self storage units with the respect that they deserve.
At the end of the day, it is well worth the work to keep your property in excellent condition. You are going to be able to attract more customers, and you are going to be able to make sure that your customers are happy in the long run. Truly, a little bit of responsibility and maintenance can go a long way.

Protect Your Self Storage UnitBy admin on February 24, 2010 | No Comments
Are you trying to figure out whether or not a property is going to be able to keep your belongings safe when you are gone for the night? Well, if that is the case, then you are going to want to be sure that you are keeping your eyes open for certain things when you are taking your tour of the property. Of course, if you have never rented storage before, then you are going to want to be sure that you do a little bit of research to figure out which features you are going to need. Thankfully, it is not going to be all that hard for you to make sure that your belongings are staying safe.
The first thing that you are going to want to check for, here, is very simple. You are going to want to be sure that your self storage facility has a nice, tall fence around its entire perimeter. Sure, some facilities are going to have cameras that they claim will keep everyone away. And typically, cameras are going to do the trick. Still, though, there is no need to take an unnecessary risk. Always be sure that your property has a tall fence so that people cannot simply walk straight up to your unit.
Second of all, you are going to want to be sure that you are renting from a property that has a live in manager. If you have a live in manager, then you are going to be able to rest assured that your self storage unit is never going to be harmed by anything. Of course, you are going to be able to rest assured that real, human eye balls are watching over your unit. When you know that a human is watching over your unit, you know that they are going to respond quickly should anything ever happen to your belongings.
Finally, here, you are going to want to be sure that your property store offers a great set of high security locks. While you may think that the other security features are going to render your locks meaningless, this is hardly the case. Your lock, reader, is your last line of defense. As such, you simply have to be sure that you are buying one that is going to be rather difficult to break. If you simply install a standard pad lock on your door, then you are not going to be able to rest assured that your belongings are as safe as they can be.
And of course, you are always going to want to be sure that you are making use of great packing and moving supplies. While you may not think of these as a security measure, they absolutely are. When you have your belongings boxed up, people are not going to be able to tell what you are storing. And of course, if they do not know what you are storing, then they are not going to go to elaborate lengths to steal it.
At the end of the day, you are going to be able to keep your belongings as safe as you would like for them to be if you are ready and willing to put some thought into it. While you may have to pay a few extra dollars for all of the security features that you are looking for, you are going to find that they are well worth the money at the end of the day. Indeed, it is challenging to attach a value to the safety of your belongings, do not you think?

A Self Storage QuestBy admin on February 17, 2010 | No Comments
Back in the day, it used to be a bit more difficult to shop around and get the prices that you were looking for. When the internet was not as big and powerful as it is today, you had to do a lot more calling around to get the prices that you were looking for. Of course, looking up a phone number, dialing that number, and waiting on hold to speak to a representative is, well, a lot more time consuming than simply typing in a web address and navigating to the self storage quotes section. Thus, if you are looking to call around for prices today, you might want to consider looking around on the internet before you pick up the phone. While the websites are not always going to be updated as quickly as you would like, they are going to be able to give you a rough ballpark of what you are looking at in your local area. From there, you are going to be able to move along with your search much more quickly.
Of course, you are going to want to begin your quest for self storage quotes by searching for your local companies directly. Typically speaking, all of your local self storage facilities are going to have price websites, and these are not going to be very hard for you to find. You can simply use your favorite search engine, type in what you are looking for, and specify your area code or your postal code. In hardly any time at all, you are going to see a list of local facilities pop up. Instead of wasting your time dialing each and every one of these facilities on the phone, you can simply click on their websites and get a quick idea of the quotes and specials that they can offer. You are going to save yourself a great deal of time doing things this way, so you are not going to have to worry about getting right down to the wire at the end of your moving time frame.
Once you have gathered up a rough range of prices, you are going to want to be sure that you are avoiding hasty decision making. While it may be tempting to settle for the cheapest self storage units that you can find, you are going to want to be sure that you actually go out and see them before you commit to anything specific. If you are not taking a gander at your units before you move into them, you might very well find that, despite their appealing price tag, they are not going to work out all that well for you. Maybe they are not going to keep your items as clean as you would like, or maybe they are not going to come equipped with all of the security features that you are looking for. Just be sure that you show up in person, here, and take a few tours. It will not take you all that much time to get this done, and you are going to thank yourself at the end of the day for keeping yourself as safe as possible.
When you sit down to shop around for your self storage units, simply be sure that you are not ignoring your common sense. A cheap price tag may be appealing on the surface, but you have to be sure that you are not being duped. Show up early, take a tour of the property, and be sure that you are going to be comfortable storing your belongings there. When your belongings are nice and safe, in a clean, secure unit, you will thank yourself for exercising a little bit of consumer discretion.
